Chappell Roan Is New Face Of MAC’s Viva Glam

Chappell Roan’s rise from cult favorite to full-fledged pop phenomenon has earned her another high-profile platform — and this one comes with a philanthropic mission attached.
The singer has been named the newest face of MAC Cosmetics’ long-running Viva Glam initiative, joining a lineage of artists and cultural figures who have used the campaign to raise money for causes related to equality, public health and LGBTQ+ advocacy. The partnership launches Thursday (June 11) with a collection of signature lip shades, with 100% of the selling price directed to Viva Glam charitable programs.

Founded in 1994, Viva Glam has become one of the beauty industry’s most successful philanthropic campaigns, raising more than $545 million worldwide over the last three decades. According to MAC, the initiative has supported more than 60 million people across 92 countries through programs focused on sexual, gender, racial and environmental equality.
Roan’s involvement feels like a natural fit. Throughout her meteoric ascent with breakout album The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess to her emergence as one of pop’s most outspoken queer voices, the artist has consistently used her platform to advocate for LGBTQ+ communities and social causes.
To mark the collaboration, MAC will make a $300,000 donation to Roan’s Midwest Princess Project, the nonprofit foundation she launched to support LGBTQ+ organizations and community programs. Beneficiaries include New York’s Ali Forney Center, Los Angeles’ TransLatin Coalition, Springfield, Mo.’s GLO Center and the Campaign for Southern Equality in Asheville, N.C.
The campaign itself was photographed by the legendary duo Inez & Vinoodh, with MAC Global Creative Director Nicola Formichetti overseeing the creative direction. Frequent Roan collaborators Andrew Dahling, Genesis Webb and Lacy Redway also contributed to the imagery, which leans into the theatrical glamour and larger-than-life visual identity that has become synonymous with the singer’s work.
